BLOC Ministries was started in 1998 by Dwight and Stephanie Young who stepped out on faith with five young children to start a ministry in an underserved urban community in Cincinnati. Since then, BLOC Cincinnati has more than 20 programs, around 40 staff and between 100-150 volunteers weekly. Programs range from Equine therapy to ministries for women who have been sex trafficked, afterschool programs, performance sports center, teaching kitchens, a food pantry, and more primarily located in the Price Hill Community - an urban Cincinnati suburb.

It was placed on our hearts to expand beyond the Cincinnati area. There is a soft spot within the organization for the West End of Louisville, Kentucky which has evolved into one of our first expansion locations. Here we will utilize programs already successfully developed by BLOC Cincinnati. These include an afterschool program, teaching kitchen, sports performance gym and a day shelter for trafficked women.
At BLOC Louisville, we strive to improve the lives of underprivileged children by providing them with education, food, and shelter. Our aim is to break the cycle of poverty and give these children a chance at a better future.
